Hello From Kiev

I just finished our first workout here in Kiev, Ukraine. This is just to let everyone know how things are going and how I am doing. The internet is hard to come by over here, technology in Kiev is not quite on par with the US. We can get wireless everywhere but no one will give us a password for access. I am here with 12 other American wrestlers and some women wrestlers as well. At my weight, Bryce Hasseman, Clint Wattenberg, and Lee Fullhart are all here. It has been fun so far. The plane ride was not bad at all and being in a German Airport was quite an experience. Our hotel is nice, not first class, but much like a Motel 6. It is directly across the street from the Arena where we practice and will wrestle. We are in the middle of a pretty nice city, a would say maybe a step-up from Pittsburgh. But not at all with its culture or class of people. Everyone here smokes, that sucks. There are tons of nice eateries and a market store right down the street. The people here really respect the wrestlers, we are looked at as celebrities and wrestling is always on TV. Again, my Mom freaked me into over packing food, and medicine, and clothes. I can buy everything I need here, and they tell me that Minsk is even nicer. O yeah, for those of you who don’t know….I am wrestling in this tournament in Ukraine then going to Minsk, Belarus for two weeks to train, then ending my tour with a tournament in Minsk. I will be home around March 10th or 11th, depending on the travel. I will keep all of you updated on how the tournaments and training go.
